As part of the research project 'Participatory foresight on next generation online platforms' for DG CNECT, PPMI is kicking off work on foresight papers covering the future of platformisation in government, health care, public discourse and intellectual property. Participate in our survey to share your views on the future of the EU in 2035 and inform policymakers today!
Season 2 dives into four topics that will significantly impact European society and the economy in the years to come:
- Future of government as a platform: can governments leverage online platforms to become more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric?
- Platformisation of health care: how can online platforms revolutionise health care delivery, improve access to services, and empower patients?
- Digital deliberation platforms: can online platforms foster more inclusive, informed, and effective public discourse on critical issues?
- Future of IP in light of platformisation trends: how will intellectual property rights need to adapt to the evolving platform economy?
The study, which began in December 2022, is a two-year foresight exercise that explores diverse topics linked to next-generation online platforms and their role in shaping European society and economy. Previous topics focused on the future of the internet, virtual worlds, and B2B industrial platforms. The results of the extensive foresight exercise, involved over 150 representatives, provide valuable insights to European policymakers.
