PPMI has been entrusted to undertake performance monitoring of the Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI) strand of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+)

PPMI (as part of Verian Group) is starting a new project for DG EMPL - 'Study supporting the monitoring of the Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI) strand of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+)'. We are thrilled to continue our work on EaSI, as a trusted provider of sound performance monitoring of one of the flagship programmes within the area of employment and social innovation.

In a bid to bolster the effectiveness of the ESF+, the Commission has ordered a study aimed at refining the monitoring and assessment mechanisms of the EaSI strand for the period 2021-2027.

The assignment, which encompasses both the previous EaSI programme (2014-2020) and the current EaSI strand under ESF+, sets out to provide comprehensive support to the Commission in systematically gathering and analysing data, thereby facilitating informed decision-making processes.

Key components of the assignment include:

  • Quantitative and qualitative data gathering: The study will focus on gathering both quantitative and qualitative data to comprehensively monitor the implementation of the EaSI strand. This will involve meticulous scrutiny of inputs, outputs, and outcomes produced under the EaSI strand across annual work programmes from 2021 to 2024.
  • Fine-tuning monitoring systems: The assignment aims to fine-tune and update the monitoring system of the EaSI strand to ensure its relevance and effectiveness. This includes analysing the performance of the EaSI strand and identifying areas for improvement.
  • User-friendly Reporting: One of the primary objectives is to generate user-friendly reports that will facilitate the dissemination of information regarding the EaSI strand and its main results. These reports will play a crucial role in enhancing transparency and accountability.

Moreover, the geographic scope of the monitoring will extend beyond EU Member States to include other participating countries such as EFTA countries within the European Economic Area (EEA), acceding countries, candidate countries, potential candidates to the EU, and other interested countries. This broad scope underscores the commitment to ensuring comprehensive coverage and inclusivity in the assessment process.
