PPMI completed the evaluation of ILO's 8.7. Accelerator Lab, an important initiative to strengthen ILO's efforts to combat child and forced labour and achieve SDG target 8.7.
The evaluation comprised a more traditional project-type evaluation by assessing how the 8.7 Accelerator Lab contributed to the eradication of forced and child labour in four countries, namely Ghana, Indonesia, Democratic Republic of Congo, and South Africa.
However, the evaluation also assessed efforts made by ILO FUNDAMENTALS to review its approach to development cooperation and programme design overall, to determine how projects to combat child and forced labour can be more effective in the future.
Therefore, the evaluation comprised an interesting balance between and project and institutional evaluation approach. It was a great pleasure to contribute to institutional improvement in ILO and to help reinforce efforts to achieve SDG 8.7!
