PPMI | Part of the Verian Group has successfully completed a two-year project for DG EAC of the European Commission, led by ICF, enabling more than 500 sport stakeholders from all EU Member States and beyond to strengthen cooperation and participate in knowledge exchange, capacity-building, and policy development across the European sport ecosystem.
Under the SHARE 2.0 initiative, a Community of Practice (CoP) on EU funding and three thematic CoPs on health, innovation, and green and sustainable sport were established. Our colleagues coordinated the thematic CoP on innovation, which addressed key innovation challenges in the EU sport sector and promoted the exchange of innovative ideas to generate positive spill-over effects. This has been done through:
- Four online capacity-building activities, focusing on:
- Innovative solutions to engage young people in grassroots sports
- Sport sector innovations driving social change
- Innovations in self-organised sport in public spaces
- Artificial intelligence for the grassroots sport sector
- Three ideas papers, focusing on:
- Digitalisation as a source of competitiveness in the sport sector
- Creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem for sport sector start- and scale-ups
- Artificial intelligence in the sport sector
- An AI masterclass for grassroots sport at the 2025 SHARE 2.0 annual conference
A new phase of SHARE 2.0 has been launched in December 2025, with our colleagues continuing to coordinate the CoP on innovation. Over the next two years, the CoP will focus on emerging priorities, including the implementation of AI solutions, education, skills, and competitiveness, and exergaming and digital sport platforms.
