The project supported the European Commission in collecting and analysing stakeholder feedback for the new EU Bioeconomy Strategy. The study addressed the challenge of synthesizing a high volume of diverse inputs from various sectors and geographies to ensure the new strategy was evidence-based, transparent and inclusive. The team performed a systematic analysis of responses from a public consultation, a Call for Evidence and submitted position papers. Additionally, the project team organised and facilitated four online stakeholder workshops focused on sustainable circularity, sustainability, market uptake and scale-up. The methodological approach integrated advanced AI-driven tools for thematic analysis with manual expert validation. Multilingual data processing was employed to ensure that contributions in all 24 official EU languages were accurately captured. The study resulted in a comprehensive synopsis report that triangulated findings from all consultation activities to identify key policy recommendations and areas of consensus. The project also provided a short factual summary for public dissemination and an analysis report with detailed response patterns. Furthermore, the team assessed the inclusiveness and effectiveness of the consultation process to support the Commission’s policy design. This work directly informed the strategic priorities for the new EU Bioeconomy Strategy, including measures to boost competitiveness and resource efficiency.
