PPMI is continuing its support to ILO by evaluating an important labour migration project in the IGAD region
The IGAD countries (Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan and Uganda) share several challenges and opportunities and experience varying economic growth rates while at the same time aiming to move towards regional integration that shall translate into significant job creation and access.
The EU provided ILO with funding to implement the project "Free movement of persons and transhumance in the IGAD region: Improving opportunities for regular labour mobility" for the period of 2017-2023. The overall objective of the project is to improve opportunities for regulated labour mobility and decent work within IGAD countries, focusing mainly on knowledge-building and operational implementation.
As the project has come to its end, PPMI will conduct its final evaluation to take stock of its relevance, coherence, effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability. The evaluation will also have a forward-look, considering any follow-up projects or support needed to continue the efforts and impact on labour migration.
We are pleased to work again for the ILO, and to collaborate with our trusted experts in Ethiopia and Sudan!
