PPMI was entrusted by DG EAC to conduct a mapping of institutions in EU Member States pursuing an aim of European interest and European integration. The assignment will provide an analysis of currently seven Jean Monnet Designated institutions (JMDIs) and identify any institutions pursuing a similar goal and purpose. Methodologically, the study will build on desk research, social network and quantitative publication analysis, as well as interviews. The results will inform a reflection on the role of JMDIs in the successor of the current Erasmus+ programme, their uniqueness, and develop robust selection criteria.
