PPMI, as part of a Verian-led consortium, is supporting ECDC in strengthening the capacity of EU/EEA Member States to prevent and prepare for communicable disease outbreaks by combining knowledge sharing, capacity building through training and a Community of Practice to foster peer learning and innovation. As part of the project, PPMI was involved in the technical set up and design of the ECDC Lighthouse space.
According to ECDC, close to 400 members from 29 countries have already registered to the community that aims to connect professionals from public health authorities, universities and research institutions, as well as civil society and community-based organisations, who use social and behavioural sciences, regardless of their geographical location in the EU/EEA.
“Prevention is at the heart of tackling some of the most pressing health threats Europe faces. Unlocking the potential of social and behavioural sciences is vital if we are to engage people and their communities with public health. ECDC Lighthouse will enable practitioners across the EU/EAA to collaborate on new ways to empower people to make the right decisions to protect health.” than profit, and the profit might come later.'
