PPMI to implement ex-ante evaluation of activities to reduce material deprivation eligible for funding in 2021-2027 programming period

At the end of August 2020, PPMI has launched a new project, titled ’Ex-ante evaluation of activities to reduce material deprivation eligible for funding in 2021-2027 programming period’, initiated by the Ministry of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania. PPMI will assist the Ministry in preparing for the upcoming programming period in terms of the distribution of aid provided by the Fund for European Aid to the most Deprived (FEAD).

The evaluation aims to improve the effectiveness and quality of material as well as non-material assistance in 2021-2027 programming period by identifying the most efficient ways to distribute food and hygiene items, as well as to implement non-material inclusion activities. PPMI team will assess whether it would be more effective to establish a social electronic card/voucher system, which would eliminate the existing stigmatisation aspects and better address personal beneficiaries’ needs.

The project will last eight months and the recommendations on how to implement the distribution of FEAD assistance will serve as a basis for the preparation for the upcoming 2021’2027 programming period.
