PPMI finalises the 2019 work programme and kick-starts 2020 activities of the Network of Experts working on the Social Dimension of Education and Training (NESET)

Last month PPMI participated in a meeting of the Network of Experts working on the Social Dimension of Education and Training (NESET), commissioned by the Directorate General for Education and Culture (DG EAC). Since this is the second year of a new four-year cycle of NESET (2019-2022), this meeting was an opportunity to reflect on the previous year in terms of lessons learnt, challenges and opportunities.

The team met with policy officers from DG EAC, the Network’s Scientific coordinator Dragana Avramov, and Coordination team members Ramon Flecha and Thomas Farnell. During the meeting we overviewed NESET's achievements in 2019, discussed upcoming activities and, in light of recent changes at the EU level, received a general update on the new Commission’s internal structure and future priorities. DG EAC representatives expressed very positive evaluations of their experience with NESET and recurrently praised the Network coordination for the high quality of its deliverables.

At PPMI we are excited about the current year, during which we will explore timely issues for education and training in Europe and beyond.
